This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
John F. Kennedy stated that, "All of us do not have equal talent, but all of us should have an equal opportunity to develop our talent." In order to teach my students and provide them with their opportunity to grow and develop their talents, a clean classroom is a necessity.
Our elementary school is a Title I school and all of our students qualify for free breakfast and lunch.
Our school is located in a low, socioeconomic area and more than half of our students are from low income households. Despite having some disadvantages, my students are at school and ready to learn everyday.
I want to be able to provide them with everything they need to become productive students and make important contributions in school and the world as productive citizens.
My Project
I have had a lot of students who have been out sick in the past month. It is very hard to teach when large groups of students are out sick at the same time. These cleaning supplies will help our classroom stay fresh and clean on a daily basis. The Clorox wipes will be used to clean tables, chairs, and desks. The cleaner and paper towels will be used to keep our sink area clean.
At the current time, most of our supplies have run out and that puts the burden on me to supply what we need.
These materials would allow us to have a clean room and hopefully this will cut down on the number of absent children in the last three months of school.
