My students need to have tables cleaned with disinfecting wipes and opportunities to sanitize their hands after blowing their nose, sneezing or coughing, without taking away from instructional time.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I work at a Title One school site with students that come from low socio-economic backgrounds and seek interactions with adults on campus on a regular basis. They are hard working and are developing a LOVE for reading and learning! Often times, our students fall ill and their attendance becomes inconsistent.
Our students love actively exploring and need to be provided the most sanitary environments possible to increase attendance to provide consistency in their instruction.
Their excitement that they share with others is contagious and that's all we want them to catch! With a lot of language learners, we try to provide a rich language environment, and environments free from too many germs. Being ill becomes another distraction and often becomes reason for many of our students to not attend.
My Project
With these wipes and hand sanitizer, my students will have the opportunity to learn in a more sanitary environment. Hopefully this will help limit illnesses that cause many of our students to be very distracted by their ailments or even absent, missing a lot of instructional time.
We need our students to be in an environment where their health and wellness is one of our top priorities, so learning can be maximized with less distractions from illnesses.
Attendance will improve and having healthy kids will dramatically improve our opportunities to teach/learn together. Doing what we can to limit distractions due to illnesses is something within our control and it would be great to be able to do my part.
