Help me give my students clay to help them relax. The modern school day can be stressful to many of my students. I hope to make their day better through the clay experience.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach art at Title I school in an urban area. All of the students get free lunch at my school. The students have high energy for creativity. It is an honor and privledge to work with them everyday. The students are most inspired when they can speak their minds through art.
My Project
I teach at a Title one school where many students are below their learning level. I believe clay is a great equalizer where everyone can have fun and be successful. I’ve never heard any students say, ”I can’t play with clay” or “I cannot sculpt”. My students always look forward to clay. Clay will make their day. I plan to get enough clay to do projects with everyone in the school for the new year 2020-21. Please help me fund my project. The fourth and fifth graders at my intermediate school will appreciate it!
