Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are some of the most amazing young people on this planet. However, many come to school uninterested in the institution of school. I have found that the arts and ceramics in particular can be the hook that gets young people excited about school. "Art is the hammer that shapes our reality."

Many of my students come from extreme poverty.

My students come from a diverse background. I have found that once my students are given a chance and a hook that gets them involved, they can do anything.

My Project

Your donations will be used to purchase clay tools so that students can finish their amazing clay projects. The ceramics studio classroom is in need of several clay tools. Working with ceramics can be instrumental in capturing a students imagination and excitement. Students are in need of kiln shelf stilts so that they can fire their work successfully. Aprons for working on the wheel. Cutting tools and wire tools for working with the clay as well a few other items.

Your donation will help change a young persons life for the better.

An experience with clay can be a powerful experience for a young person. It can be the motivation that captures a young persons mind and propels them to greatness.
