Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students live in an urban area where their parents are working two to three jobs just to make ends meet. These students come to school not only for learning but for love and attention which I love to provide. I try everyday to fill our time with laughter, learning and hugs!

Smiles brighten our days and help my kids feel important, safe and loved.

I want to provide the best environment for them to learn and feel safe in.

My Project

My dream is to build a classroom where children can interact with one another in a comfortable, flexible manner. I want the students to work on hands-on real life activities to build experiences they would not otherwise have. Using flexible seating like wobble seats and cushions will allow them to work together to explore learning.

Adding flexible seating to our classroom will let the students work in an environment that encourages learning through sharing, exploring and problem solving.

With a variety of seating areas, children will be able to get comfortable to share ideas and work on the construction of group projects. I think this is the best way to learn.
