Unfortunately, the music department has been cut from our school several times in it's history and we are in the process of building and growing the band, choir, and musical programs. I formed a booster program to enhance the music classroom through fundraisers. We buy sheet music, books, accompaniments, instruments, uniforms, robes, costumes, and classroom supplies. This takes the pressure off the school, so that the music department will never be downsized or cut, but we need your help to provide extra equipment for a positive and productive learning environment for our students.
My Project
Mrs. S has exciting ideas about using a classroom set of ukuleles with her elementary students. They will learn about notes, rhythms, chords, steady beat, and playing as a group. This is a wonderful learning experience the whole class can share together. Thankfully our school was able to bring back elementary music classes two years ago but we are still building up the necessary supplies for a fun learning experience.
We are working hard this year to update all the instruments available to students in kindergarten through high school.
Your donations on this page, as well as to the Adopt-an-Instrument fundraiser, are providing low income students with an opportunity to play quality instruments in all grades and music classes.
