Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I want my students to be able to read and be able to comprehend what they have read at or above grade level. It is important for them to hear how fluent readers sound.

I teach first grade at a Title One school.

Most of my students receive the free and reduced price breakfast and lunch program support. My school is in a very low income area with students who aren't exposed to a lot of technology. My kids are appreciative of even the smallest things. For example I give them a book for Christmas, and each holiday I give them a pencil.

My Project

My students will use the iPod nanos daily when doing daily 5 rotations. During this time they will use the iPod nano to listen to an audio book. During this time they will be listening to a fluent reader reading a book of their choice. My students would really love the new technology in our classroom and will be forever grateful!!

The donations will provide additional technology into our classroom and will allow them to hear fluent reading.

My students would be so grateful for any donation to enhance technology in our classroom. I will also be eternally grateful for the donation to enhance my students' reading.
