Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach a great group of students in a large urban high poverty district. As you can imagine, the district budget is tight, and we are often unable to get needed supplies.
All of my children are ready to learn, and they deserve better than what can be provided.
My 66 children are special to me as they have reinvigorated me in my teaching career. They love coming to my class, and I get excited seeing them each and every day.
My Project
The students and I would love to explore the great educational technology that is available. My students are extremely enthusiastic about learning and we are incredibly fascinated by the interactive technology.
The technology would make a great classroom addition because of its fantastic interaction with the user.
The Dot would be set up in an area of the classroom where it would be available for all. As I teach Science and Social Studies, we can use the Dot to ask questions and to play classroom Jeopardy. We will keep a notebook of phrases and terms which would work with the Echo. The Fire HD 8 Kids Edition Tablet would be extremely useful as well. Our school has limited technology and this would be a useful tool to measure student's progress by using its embedded apps. I enjoy setting up rotating small groups and the Fire would be set up as a technology center.
I can not even imagine all the wonderful ways the technology will change my classroom, but I am sure it will benefit my students!
