Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My classroom is filled with 20 first grade students who are eager to learn new and exciting skills at school and this includes increasing reading fluency skills that are necessary for the future. The school I am teaching at is a Title I school. This means that a lot of families have lower-income levels and the students do not have many supplies at hand.
Still, my students always manage to come to school with a positive attitude.
They are so young yet always seem happy to start their day of learning. It's amazing that many have never missed a day of school and look forward to coming every day.
My Project
In today's world it is important for students to be technologically savvy. They need to be able to use a keyboard, navigate through different screens with a mouse, and learn to advance through experience.
My students need the opportunity to learn how to use technological equipment in order to be competitive in today's world.
Right now we must schedule time and wait for our turn to share the computers with other student's from different classrooms. By having Chromebooks in our classroom, my student's will have more opportunity to do research, use our math programs, and also our reading programs. Our students will benefit greatly by having Chromebooks in our classroom.
