My Students

My wonderful public charter school serves students in grades K-8 and provides rigorous academics, fantastic teachers, and a safe learning environment. As a result, we are consistently one of the high performing schools in the district.

Our goal is to prepare our students for success in order to be lifelong learners.

I am a third grade teacher at my school.

My class is very diverse and composed of students with different learning abilities, strengths, and needs. We are a Title I school and about 90% of my student receive free or reduced rate lunch.

My Project

In my classroom, we have limited technology. Our materials for interventions and differentiated learning are mainly teacher or student made and administered. Although the students respond well to the colorful and often self-made materials for learning that we use, nothing captures their attention and is more engaging than tech devices.

Student attention, motivation, and focus will improve greatly using technology!

Using a tablet will help improve student focus with repeated interventions and allow for rapid assessment of their progress, in a fun way. The tablet will allow my students to get more immediate feedback and excitement about their successes and about learning!
