I teach at a Title I school, where the majority of the students receive free or reduced lunch, universal breakfast, and food packs to go home every weekend. These amazing kids are eager to learn and very creative. We make the most of their education every day and aim to teach the whole child.
These students will thrive with rich, diverse, and engaging opportunities, but most of all feel comfortable in their space.
Every single student in my classroom has a passion to learn and the drive to succeed.
My Project
The learning environment in a classroom can contribute to how comfortable and safe students feel. I have always strived to create an environment that allows students to settle in and find a cozy space to work hard rather than the traditional desk style classroom. Having comfortable flexible seating, home ascents and organizational supplies foster an environment of finding a spot that accommodates a student's individualized needs as far as a workspace. As part of implementing flexible seating I will continue to help students identify the best spot for them as individuals and identify why or why not is works. With your help, we can create a comfortable, cozy workspace that fosters hard-working students.
