Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is a tuition-free public charter school providing a rigorous college preparatory experience to elementary and junior high students in Salt Lake City. At our school, we are laying the foundation of financial security for our students and we are training future doctors, engineers, lawyers, scientists, artists, and presidents.

Help me give my students relief from their Covid-19 stress.

My project includes markers, pencils, pencil pouches, books, and a class printer to learn comfortably with minimum obstacles. My 7th & 8th-grade math classes total about 100 amazing students, many of whom come from bilingual households, and more than 90% qualify for free lunch. My students have a powerful voice, and it is my task to help them grow as informed, conscientious citizens.

I feel privileged to teach such wonderful students. They challenge me and push me in positive ways I never imagined. I want them to know I believe in them and they can do anything.

My Project

As many schools are going to remote learning we are trying to stay focused and our sights onward to the future where nothing stops us from growing and becoming our best selves.

Help me keep my students focused and engaged in learning.

The scanner is going to help us keep track of our work without a mountain of papers. Pencils, markers, paper are basic for hands-on practice. The portable vacume will help students keep their environment clean and more conducive to growth. And of course, these scholars need fuel, hence the treats.
