Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have such an amazing group of students this year! Unfortunately, many are still feeling the aftershock of Hurricane Harvey. We've received new students that have been displaced because of flooding and current students in crowded homes because they or other family members have been displaced.
Our school's population is made up of mostly low income families.
As a school, we try to give them in our classrooms what isn't available to them at home. We strive to make our classrooms places that our students want to be and places that help today's students learn.
My Project
It takes a lot of money to run a classroom smoothly. The more unorganized it is, the harder it is to keep a hold on classroom management. In order to make processes run smoothly, such as using the classroom scissors and glue, you can't just leave things in a pile on the table. In my classroom, we have a pretty smooth system for everything we need to do! Unfortunately, as the years pass, old supplies start to break or wear out and must be replaced. The school provides some of these things, but they're often old supplies that aren't in very good condition themselves!
