Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My second grade classroom is a place of transition and learning. Students will spend this year getting accustomed to new course work and material. As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty district, my students are faced with challenges in and outside the classroom. Despite these challenges, I look to provide them with rigorous, fun coursework that will help them be successful.

My students are silly, exceptional, and creative.

All twenty three of my students love to learn and look forward to coming to school each day. Creating lessons that are positive and creative will provide my students with a comfortable environment outside of their home lives.

My Project

My students work tremendously hard during the school day. We are running low on supplies and would love some fresh materials. New materials would allow my students to work more efficiently. Whenever we are low on materials, it makes it significantly harder to complete multiple step activities/centers.

My students love crafts and center work because it makes their learning a lot more fun!

Having enough paper, crayons/markers, scissors, and glue sticks makes the world of difference in a second grade classroom. All of our curriculum has resources that need to be printed out in order to be used. I believe that utilizing paper based materials instead of constantly using a screen enhances learning and makes lessons more creative.
