Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students come from a low income area where 83% of the students in the district receive free breakfast and lunch. Every child in my classroom has been diagnosed with an emotional disability. The trauma they have experienced has impacted their desire to study. They also question what they can accomplish. These students, 6th, 7th, and 8th graders, read between a 1st and third grade level. This project will help with daily creative supplies and provide temporary privacy as needed.
My Project
These supplies will help give the students privacy when testing and doing their daily work. Sometimes they just need to separate themselves from the rest of the students and these carrels will help provide that privacy.
The art supplies and dry erase boards will help the creative spirit in my classroom.
Assignments in my class allow the student to reply through writing an essay, drawing pictures, cartoon strips, and being creative. These supplies will help my students think out of the box when they complete assignments.
The dry erase boards will allow the students to practice examples while the teacher is teaching. They will also allow them to make temporary signs and drawing during break time.
