My Students

I teach fifth grade at a K-8 elementary school in the Sierra Nevada foothills. My students are growing up together in a small, tight-knit community school. I have diverse learning needs throughout my classroom but all of my students are eager, enthusiastic and innovative despite our low socioeconomic and Title I status. They are enjoying collaborative, hands-on projects and working together to accomplish a goal.

This is my first year teaching fifth grade.

I'm excited to have students participate in their growth and education throughout the year.

My Project

My active fifth graders enjoy working in groups and staying busy with hands on activities. They use markers, pens, paper, scissors and their supply boxes on a daily basis.

My students need basic school supplies to replenish our dwindling supply boxes.

Because our classroom is set up to support collaborative learning, my students sit in table groups. Our supply boxes stay at each table group, for easy access to needed supplies. The markers, colored pencils, and paper will all contribute to replenishing these boxes. The students use these boxes for everyday academic content and art lessons.

We also need ink for our color printer. We will use this ink throughout the year to print content for our science journals, invention reports and end of the year portfolio.
