My students need 200 notebooks to write down important ideas and to reference material. We need basics like pencils, markers, and paper so we can record our learning.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I envision a classroom that is able to meet the needs of each child. One of the largest obstacles in achieving this goal is a shortage of basic resources such as paper, pencils, bandaids, and tissues. Without these tools, I can't meet my students' most basic needs.
My students are thoughtful and creative.
At ten years old, my students are exploring their identities and teetering in between childhood and adolescence. Within my classroom, I try to provide a space that is safe for experimenting with different mathematical ideas.
My Project
In order to help each of these unique personas emerge, I need the right materials to foster their development. Notebooks will be used to record students' inquiries and observations. My kids do not have a curriculum, so having a notebook to reference back to is critical. Similarly, chart paper helps us to record our daily discoveries and display them around the classroom.
Each item in this project supports the development of children's basic needs.
Without basics like tissues, bandaids, paper, and pencils, my kids will be ill-equipped to tackle more complex tasks. My students deserve to have their needs met. Please, help them.
