Classroom Supplies Need Replenishing After Hurricane Florence

My Students
We live in a poor rural county in NC where students are on the FREE lunch program and maintaining school supplies throughout the year can be challenging.
With the recent Hurricane to hit our area very hard in September we lost almost 3 weeks of school and several students suffered water and/or tornado damage to their homes.
Students work hard to have what they need daily in class, but sometimes problems occur and the needed supplies take a second priority.
My Project
Hurricane Florence left a lot of damage to our area and months later is still costing money as repairs are made and items slowly are replaced. School supplies are constantly needed but when a disaster strikes like flooding and wind damage those items are not as high priority as food, clothing, and shelter.
Our students will find it easier to perform in school as the needed supplies are funded by generous donors through Donors Choose!
Being prepared in class daily is a first step to be academically ready for school and it gives a sense of accomplishment before work is even started.
