I currently have 20 wonderful kindergarten students, who are eager to learn. My goal each year is for my students to learn to love school and learning. I believe that the best way to encourage this love of learning is by creating a fun and engaging environment for my students to learn.
Due to our school size and county budget, funding is limited, and all basic supplies and materials come from the pockets of the teachers or generous parents.
This makes it difficult to provide my students with everything that is needed in the classroom. Our school is a large elementary school, made up of approximately 650 students. We have a great, caring staff that works hard to make sure all of our students have what they need to succeed.
My Project
In my classroom I incorporate hands-on art activities into many of our reading, writing, science, social studies, and even math lessons. By incorporating hands-on activities across all academic areas, I am encouraging my students to show their artistic abilities and to be creative. In this project, I am asking for construction paper, glue, crayons, colored paper, chart paper and a pencil sharpener. This is basic supplies that will be used in our classroom on a daily basis to create hands-on learning.
Donations to this project will improve my classroom because it will allow my students the chance to show their creativity and make learning more meaningful and fun!

We will be able to make learning more colorful and incorporate crafts into daily instruction! Anytime I have a chance to make learning more hands-on and fun, I believe that the students will experience a more meaningful learning experience. Kindergarten should be a year of wonder, exploration, and instill a love of learning for students, what better way then through colorful, creative crafts.
