Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My school is a Title I school located in an urban neighborhood. My students are from diverse backgrounds and speak many different languages at home including the following: Cantonese, Mandarin, Arabic, Spanish, Somalian, and Creole.
I also have many students who I teach who are on Individualized Education Plans.Some of these students have specific learning disabilities and emotional impairments.
In my classroom, I ensure that I differentiate for all learning needs that are present to meet their accommodations and modifications.
My Project
This project will help fund basic classroom supplies for our classroom. All students will positively benefit from this project and will impact student learning.
Items include the following: pencils, notebooks, looseleaf paper, binders, dry erase markers, and Post-It anchor chart paper.
Many of my students do not come to class with these basic essentials. This project would ensure that students have a pencil and notebook and/or binder to write with during every ELA class. The anchor chart paper would be great for students to post and present their work with their peers. The dry erase markers are needed for students to write on our whiteboard.
The students will be very excited to have these materials in our classroom.
