Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students come from an urban area with diverse backgrounds, so they are facing multiple life issues. This can be difficult for anyone, so it is highly important that they are afforded a classroom environment that promotes their learning and well being first and foremost.
They are enthusiastic, ambitious, and motivated learners.
I wish for each one of my students to have the opportunities that they so rightfully deserve in a classroom environment that provides ample and worthwhile learning experiences.
My Project
A new school year entails eager and bright-eyed students entering my classroom. I have requested book bins to store and organize books by themes and levels, which will be easier for the children to choose during literacy centers and to take home as a lending library. The classroom supply caddies will be stocked with pencils, crayons, markers and glue sticks for the students to use during small and whole group activities. It is important that the supplies are readily available for the children to use throughout the school day.
I wish for my students to have a classroom that has all the materials that they need at their fingertips, so that they can become independent learners in the classroom.
The turn-in-your-work organizer will be utilized by both my students and I to organize both class work, homework, and reading activities. The wireless doorbell will be a great tool for classroom management, transitions and incentives. The doorbell tones will be signals for my students to follow, and will also help with time management. Children require routines, consistency and organization in and out of the classroom. I am confident that the materials will help to create a classroom environment that promotes learning and independence.
