My students need basic supplies like composition notebooks, glue sticks, index cards, and colored pencils for every day classroom use. Our classroom also needs dry erase markers and boards for students to practice their writing!

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach young adults aged 14-17 years of age at a Title I high school in an impoverished urban area in North Carolina. Our school is predominantly minority with around 85% of the students on free/reduced lunch.
My students are inquisitive, hardworking, and creative learners that demonstrate an enormous amount of empathy and respect for their peers.
Despite economic disadvantages, they are focusing on becoming ready to enter the workforce, a military branch, or further their education through university/trade/vocational school.
My Project
These materials will make a difference in my students' learning by enabling them to participate daily with our in class tasks that include reading, writing, speaking and listening, and language skills. The use of the whiteboards is a very common practice in my classroom, especially with writing. Using the workshop model, students are able to erase mistakes, make changes, and discuss with their peers about their work.
By donating to our project, you will not only help a student in need, but you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement and progress.
My students and I would be immensely grateful for any contribution.
