This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
During my formal observation this year, my theatre students took it upon themselves to stay in character the entire class. We had been working on a scene for our end-of-the-year showcase, and while my principal sat in on our class, my students went above and beyond. During and in between the character building activities and improv games, I witnessed an overbearing security guard, a high fashioned prima donna, an eccentric busybody, a nervous professor, an innocent nerd, and a aloof burn-out.
In the style of Daniel Day-Lewis, my students became method actors before my eyes, without any prompting.
They are special, intelligent, and creative, and they deserve the best.
My Project
IB and Talented theatre students will be able to use Dell Chromebooks in the classroom to explore Theatre Design and create set, costume, and sound designs in class.
Student designs will be used in performances and showcased on stage.
Students will have the opportunity to create sound designs that can be amplified with the Vari speaker during live performances.
Students will have the opportunity to use technology to create and see their work in action! Part of class is learning about theory, history, and best practices, but the most valuable learning experience come from doing. Help me students to create!
