Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are highly motivated to use technology for learning. They are also students whose needs and abilities widely vary. Our school uses several programs in order to address those needs including iReady which is a computer-based program that addresses students' individual needs in math and reading. In order to fully implement these individualized programs, my students need access to working headphones. Nearly all students at our school come from low-income households and cannot afford to send headphones for our students.
My Project
The need for headphones is almost a daily activity in my classroom, especially in math. Headphones are needed for individualized curriculum used for interventions in reading and math. Working without is distracting for many of my students who have focusing issues and they miss important instruction and supports. By having headphones, students will be able to avoid all of these problems and focus on increasing their learning!
By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.
Students will be able to better focus on their own academic material at hand as well as have access to powerful auditory supports built into the Chromebook programs. In this technology literate world, any interaction with updated technology will increase their literacy as well as their desire to learn and use the new technology!
