My Students

I work at a small rural Title 1 school. I teach math to 59 fourth graders. These students have a wide range of abilities and backgrounds. Many of the students are faced with challenges both in and out of the classroom. Even though they have these challenges, they walk into our classroom everyday ready to learn.

Our students are appreciative of everything.

They say "Thank You" each and every day to the 4th grade teachers as they leave the class.

My Project

Students love to sit around the room and work. A rug would make it much more comfortable and inviting for them to work in a spot other than their desks.

A rug in our classroom would give a place to sit on other than the floor.

Our classroom does not have carpet and this would benefit all students by giving them an alternative to work more comfortably.

Students love to take a clipboard and work on the floor with a partner and this would be a wonderful asset for our classroom. It would also give a more home-like atmosphere for the students.
