My students are fourth graders at a small charter school in Minneapolis. This is my first year teaching fourth graders and I am excited to meet my students as I have taught some of their older siblings in the last two years. My students are resilient and bright learners, always very quick to catch on to new information! They love to learn and talk together - and I love to facilitate that growth.
The classroom rug is often the center of learning in a classroom. The rug is where we gather for morning meetings, math and reading lessons, and community circles. While we could sit on the plain carpet, a rug helps mark off the space both physically and mentally - helping us prepare to learn and engage for the day.
Donating to this project means giving me and my students an area to come together to create a unique community of compassionate learners and thinkers.
Every classroom needs a gathering space - help us build ours!
