Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As English language learners, books are so important to my students and are truly valued. I teach English language learners with low socio-economic status. My class doesn't have a great library with diversity. My goal is to provide students with diverse opportunities. My students love to read but they are all on different levels. As a teacher, I want to provide opportunities for students to have a differentiated library. Due to my students being ELL, they require a lot of visuals and hands-on materials to help them understand a deeper meaning in math. My school is a Title One school that consists of low socioeconomics. Many students come from another country, so they have different background knowledges.

My Project

The items in my class will help motivate my students in teaching their goals. My classroom lacks a lot of items and supplies to help my students. These books and items will continue to enhance the print-rich classroom that I strive to create. Every student will enjoy having new supplies and we can finally have supplies. Each student will have some resources to encourage and motivate their learning. This will help close the gap due to COVID. Students will be able to choose books, which will help them continue to enjoy independent reading time. They will have new books to read and manipulatives to use for math.
