My students need materials like staplers and pencil sharpeners to complete all assigned work. Additionally, I need a projector remote to seamlessly teach and check in with students around the room.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are from a low-income/high poverty area, and many of them are from immigrant families. These student are often in charge of taking care of their younger siblings and have more responsibilities than your average middle school student. They face challenges both in and outside of school. Many of them do not have technology in their households to meet the needs of the ever-evolving classroom and world around them. That being said, they are still a huge inspiration to me every day. Because of my students, I am learning to be more patient, to be kind, selfless, and composed.
When in my classroom, I want my students to feel safe and comfortable by having consistent expectations and routines.
Additionally, I like having excess supplies to help my students be successful in class. Supplying this over and over myself is a huge stress and burden, but I do it for the love of my students and their wellbeing.
My Project
I have gone half the school year without a reliable pencil sharpener. The students in my class are constantly frustrated that there are not materials for them to write with in my classroom. Also, I project all my lessons using google slides and am stuck at the front of my class while giving direct instruction.
The pencil sharpeners and projector remote in this project will allow for a smoother flow of both my instruction and the learning of my students.
I will be a happier teacher and my students will be happier learners with the materials from this simple project!
