Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a teacher in a low-income/high-poverty, school district where my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.

I may not be able to control their home lives; however, I can certainly control their experiences during the school day.

From the minute they walk in the door of my classroom, I focus on their potential and growth while they are with me. By doing this in a creative and positive way, I am hoping to inspire even our earliest learners to continue on a path of academic excellence.

My Project

Children learn through play! Puzzles are a great way for students to work together as a team. As they work together they practice taking turns, practice problem solving skills to get to the goal of putting a puzzle together.

My students are a great group of eager learners.

It's a great way to stimulate the brain! While working on puzzles, the students will be able to explore and learn. The connections made in the brain increase our ability to learn, to comprehend, and to remember. In addition, completing a puzzle, or even just the successful placement of one piece, encourages confidence.
