My students need a projector so that they can be engaged with technology, watch educational videos, and have access to educational websites including those from our curriculum. My students will be more engaged during math, science, writing, and literacy lessons with visual cues to help them learn.
In my classroom, I have 22 students who range in age from 7-8 years old.
My school is located in a high poverty area where all of my students receive free breakfast and lunch. Many of my students come to school without the necessary materials needed to learn. A projector will engage my students and allow them to interact with technology. My students who get easily distracted will greatly benefit, but my entire class as a whole will be very excited and willing to learn, and the visual model will be highly beneficial to all of them! I believe the visual model will keep them all highly engaged in their learning. My students deserve access to resources that our school is unable to provide.
My Project
Being able to provide my students with as many different ways to learn is a top priority of mine. I want to make learning fun and engaging. I believe this projector will be beneficial for Literacy, Writing, Math and Science. Visual and auditory learners will benefit from seeing the problems up on the board and watching the educational videos and games will keep the children interested and engaged. In Math, I will be able to project their problems up on the board so that we can all work together cooperatively and be active participants. Our Math curriculum has many great websites that I will be able to go on, and I will be able to show different learning tools, videos, and games to keep their learning fun and engaging. In Literacy, we can read stories together, and in Science we will be able to watch educational videos. I will be able to project graphic organizers and tools up on the screen to aide the children in writing. It will be a fantastic learning tool for my second grade students.
I want to be able to educate my students in a fun and inviting way that makes them all want to learn.
This project will help to make the students excited about their learning material, and it will help them be able to understand their concepts visually. Since a laptop will be used with the projector, they will actively participate in their learning as well with games and interactive sites. Studies show that a child learns with so much more meaning when they see, hear, feel, and touch.
