As a first year Guidance Counselor, I am learning something new everyday. I love having the opportunity to be in direct contact with 100 students each day.
I am a Guidance Counselor at two schools.
I teach, keep records, and give guidance at an elementary school for half of each day, and I teach three classes of Career Guidance at an intermediate school for the second half of each day.
My students range from 2nd grade to 6th grade. My instruction is part of the exploratory rotation, so I teach 5 guidance classes each day. My students benefit from the lessons I provide each day. A projector will allow my students to visualize the lesson and connect the instruction to learning.
One of the challenges I face at both schools, is the need for a classroom projector to present my lessons. Most of my students are visual learners, and a projector will allow my class to view my power point presentations and my videos for character development.
I also teach a unit on Career Choices. I need to be able to project pictures and documents on the board. This will help my students to VISUALIZE the curriculum and begin to plan their career path. A worksheet and a lecture is the wrong way to involve our students in the classroom. Today, teachers need to use technology in the classroom, such as a projector, to engage students in the lesson.
Your donation will provide a much needed item.
Today, the use of technology is imperative in our classroom. A projector will give our students the guidance lesson which will encourage success.
