I am a middle school social studies with a love of bringing history alive. The students in my classrooms are inquisitive, collaborative, and work hard to learn despite the challenges of living in a rural school district. They excel at project-based learning activities and strive to do their best. They are fearless when it comes to technology and, as children of the 21st century, they need to be prepared to use a variety of tools to engage their world.
Many students in my class come to school saying they forgot their homework wasn't able to complete assignments because they have miss placed their assignments because they say they lack the items necessary for adequate organization.
Despite these issues they come ready to learn everyday and look forward to the stories of history that we are learning about. My classroom uses a variety of learning strategies and assessment opportunities so every student can be reached regardless of their learning challenges.
My Project
My class as many classes are faced with a pandemic that has forced students to learn from home. Some have forgotten the organizational skills needed to be successful in school. The binders will be instrumental in allowing students to keep work in one central location at school so they don't lose their work at home. I have too many students that lose notes and assignments and then have to either start over or don't do it at all. The storage box will be used for students to pick up missed assignments if they have to quarantine or miss school.
