This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are curious about the world around them, and love to discuss what they think and feel on a variety of topics. A large number of my students are English language learners, so classroom discussions are especially critical to their continued development. They love to learn new information and surprise me every day with the deep questions they ask and connections they make. They, in particular, love discussing different parts of the world, and finding the places on the map and globe!

My Project

The materials needed for my students to succeed are numerous, and our classroom lacks built-in storage. This mobile storage cabinet would help organize and declutter our learning space. Students can be distracted in a cluttered envrionment, and having more closed off storage areas will help keep them focused. It might seem like a simple piece of furniture, but organization in the classroom can make a big difference in the level of attentive students give to their learning. By better organizing our classroom, my students can put their focus where it needs to be, on learning! It will minimize distraction and create a more calming environment.
