I have an amazing classroom of students who need to move around during learning. Each child in my classroom absolutely loves learning, although the method and environment in which they learn best varies greatly. I have a large number of students in a small classroom and we are 5th graders with adult like bodies.
We need more space without so many desks.
My students bodies are not feeling great from sitting in the hard chairs, and they are leaning and tilting to find different ways.
My students are a bunch of creative, critical thinkers that are already solving problems they see in their environment. On of which is the classroom desks that they cannot move around efficiently in.
My Project
With flexible seating it allows them to wobble, bounce, lean, or stand. There are many studies that say physical movement in the classrooms increase blood flow, core strength and oxygen to the brain, which helps them to focus more.
I have some standing only desks and saw a need for something else to add and the step pods are perfect!
We do not have many desks in our room and the portable desk option is perfect for them to pick the spot that is best for their learning. The peanut balls will be a great addition and already see them using it in a multitude of ways for seating. The bean bag chairs will give the room a good "safe/relaxing" space for them when they need it.
