My scholars come from four neighboring districts and vary in socioeconomic status which creates an intentionally diverse school! They practice the values of perseverance, respect, integrity, discipline and enthusiasm every single day. They also practice the value of love by spreading kindess inside and ourside of our school community. In addition to these values and high academic expectations, they also work on social and emotional skills. With all their hard work, there is no doubt in my mind they are on the path to greatness!
My Project
My scholars struggle with the varying levels of noise that occur inside of a classroom. Each person in the classroom (adults included) add noise level in a classroom community. This noise level impacts my scholars ability to perform academically and also impacts their behavior. Sometimes noises that adults would not think are impactful can significantly affect a scholars abuility to perform and be part of a classroom community. Some of the materials in this project would help decrease the noise level in the classroom. Other materials in this project woudl decrease the amount of noise input that scholars are exposed to. MP3 players would add consistent background noise for scholars who need help blocking out the unexpected noises.
