This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My fourth and fifth grade students are from a rural area in Mississippi with the nearest major city at least eight miles away. We are a community made up of mostly agriculture and a little industry. Our school population is a little under 200 and has approximately 100% of students receiving free lunch.
We have successfully completed our first semester of school and all of the supplies have run out.
I would like to keep my students motivated by continuing to supply them with the basic classroom necessities they need to finish the year strong.
My Project
I want to continue to provide my students with the basic classroom supplies to finish the school. The students in my school have a lot of things to focus on and school supplies should not be one of them.
We have a goal to show growth on the upcoming state tests and I want them to focus on that.
Students will the pencils and paper for writing practice. The copy paper is needed to make individual copies. I use the laminating sheets to laminate reading and vocabulary games for my students. Your donations will help my students stay focused on our goal and finish the school year strong.
