My class is an adorable and energetic group of children with autism. My students all have severely limited communication skills and require a significant amount of support for day to day activities such as communicating, socialization and activities of daily living (e.g. toileting, feeding etc). Most of my students come from households where English is spoken as a second language and all of my students meet the eligibility criteria for free lunch.
Due to the nature of my students' disability, each child has their own individualized education program.
My students require the following classroom items to help with data collection, visual cues, learning adaptions and independent work materials to maximize their success in the classroom.
My Project
Due to the nature of my students' disabilities, each child requires an individual binder that contains the data for their educational programs. My students also require binders for their independent work. We use color coded binders to help our students recognize their own binder and promote their independence. My students require clipboards that will contain their behavioral data and toileting data.
These materials are important to help my students improve their behavior and daily living skills.
A stapler will help to keep their sheets and forms organized and will be used to put their work on the bulletin board, and markers will be used to work on fine motor skills.
