This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Do you remember what it was like to work so hard and not get rewarded?
The students in my classroom work so hard.
Many students put forth a great amount of effort but still struggle. These students come from very families that care so greatly about their education but do not have the funds to help them. The students love it when we have hands on materials for them to work with.
My Project
By providing these materials, students will be able to use hands on math materials, such as the Judy clocks and weights, to help enrich their math experience. They will also be able to feel success when they do well by getting a motivational pencil for outstanding effort and behavior.
Please think about those times in your life when you worked so hard for something, but still struggled.
Many students do this today and need something to help keep them motivated. By providing hands on materials in math and motivational pencils for rewards, you are helping these students greatly.
