Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I'm a first grade teacher in San Francisco. Students in my class are either English language learners or native English speakers. Most of my students are between the ages of 6 and 7.
Our low income school lacks a lot of useful resources.
First graders are very interested and eager to learn. They come to school every day with a lot of energy. We will be working on strategies that will help us become better readers, writers, and mathematicians.
My Project
My classroom will benefit from using an electric pencil sharpener and an electric stapler in order to build more independence with my students when using classroom materials. The ink cartridges will be helpful with creating classroom materials for lessons as well. I depend a lot on using color ink when printing in order to help students understand the information better. In addition, the Sharpie pens are useful when creating anchor charts and are used very often. Lastly, the file folders and plastic sheet protectors are necessary for becoming a more organized and efficient classroom. With all of the paperwork that is received, it is vital that I have the materials needed to make this happen.
