I am a first year teacher starting this September. My goal is to give my students the materials they need to be successful in my room. This helps create a better environment for them and gives a warm and inviting place for students to learn.
My new school is in one of the top districts in the state of New Jersey.
At this school, my students are hard working, inquisitive, and full of curiosity. Our classroom is an 8th grade life science class where students are using Next Generation Science Standards to stimulate students' interests in science and better prepare them for the real world.
As a first year teacher I do not have a lot of supplies for student use. With these various supplies like colored pencils, post-it notes, and other materials, we can have interactive science lessons in a student-centered classroom. For example, individual whiteboards will be used to help for different all-classroom activities to better gauge students' understanding.
I would like classroom materials to be used on a regular basis to help enhance student learning.
This will also help if students do not have these materials on their own. I would be able to have students participate in a variety of activities no matter if they personally own the materials or not.
