My kindergarten class is a bright, energetic, and responsible group who love art, science, and learning more about animals. My class currently includes 27 students from Southern Oregon, located in a predominantly low socioeconomic area. They find joy and excitement when they try new things, sing, dance, count, and identify letters.
My class is always excited to learn something new and discover more about the amazing world around them.
My Project
This project will give my students an opportunity to learn math and literacy with a hands-on approach. By using Unifix cubes, dice, and geometric shapes the students will be able to build fine motor skills as well as a positive association with math. By using the magnetic letters and dry-erase sleeves, the students will be able to build letter-name association and writing skills. All of these manipulatives help the students expand their knowledge of math and literacy, create an environment of fun and creativity, and encourage students to foster fine motor skills.
This project gives the students in my classroom a hands-on approach to learning math and literacy skills while promoting a positive environment of learning.
