Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My classroom consists of 29 inner-city students with nine of them being autistic and an additional six who are English language learners. My school is an inner-city, Title I school. My students are from various ethnic backgrounds. A large majority of my students come from non-English speaking families.

My school does not have available funding to purchase materials that are needed to meet the needs of my special education students and English language learners.

My students are highly motivated and eager to learn. If given the proper resources, they would be given the chance to be as successful as students in the surrounding suburbs.

My Project

A classroom MacBook Pro would open the door to many opportunities that Chromebooks and iPads cannot allow for my ADHD children.

With Pages, Numbers, and Keynote, students will be able to write, analyze data, and present their work in engaging ways.

iPhoto, iMovie, and Garage Band can be utilized to put together captivating slide shows and chronicle classroom activities. With Final Cut Pro and Logic Pro X, my students will be able to create projects with the same tools professionals use.

The Mac App Store is filled with educational apps that students will love. iBook Author is a free app that will help me make Multi-Touch books for the Mac, so I can use to create materials tailored to my class level. It can also be used to make portfolios, class newsletters, or yearbooks. The opportunities are endless!
