My students need 20+ books for our classroom library to help them explore and further understand lessons.
"I believe the children are our future. Teach them well and let them lead the way." - George Benson
I have a class of 23 excited, enthusiastic, and eager to learn kindergartners.
Many of them do not have books at home. Many haven't grown up being read to, or told nursery rhymes, which can make school a challenge for them. Our school is a low income school where 78% of the students are on free or reduced price lunch.
I want to fill my classroom library with books that are not only interesting and exciting to my students, but will serve as enrichment to the lessons we are covering in class. I want my students to see that books can be fun and that they can open up a whole new world to them.
By expanding our classroom library, it will open up a whole new world to my class.
They will be able to learn and explore by opening up a book. Children are our future and they deserve the very best.
DonorsChoose makes it easy for anyone to help a classroom in need. Public school teachers from every corner of America create classroom project requests, and you can give any amount to the project that inspires you.
