This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Do you remember what it was like to read a book you didn't want to put down? My students do not have a school library and rely on the books that I have in my classroom! We need more books!
My students are both boys and girls that are in 5th grade.
They attend a public charter school. My students are smart and inquisitive. They are in need of new books for our classroom library to feed their growing minds! They enjoy reading and learning about a wide range of topics.
My Project
These 15 new books will allow my students to read a variety of texts by increasing our classroom library. We use several books a week for silent reading, content connections, and both reading and writing lessons. Children's books are a great resource for all classrooms and for all subjects!
My students do not have a school library.
These books will allow students to have more choices in the books they choose to read. A variety of books will also allow my students' love of reading to grow!
