My Students

My class consists of 30 amazing students with disabilities. They teach me every day how awesome life really is and to not take anything for granted! When reading is a struggle it is my goal to open up the world of discovery through literature!

My Project

I love to keep up-to-date classroom library books that I can read sections from to get students excited about reading and actually enjoying it! Each time I read a book I always give my students a book talk so they will think about giving it a chance. The more books and genres they try, the more they are open to ideas and exposed to new vocabulary. We have days that students can do silent reading when we finish early and they love having the books that are current and have heard me talk about available to them to try.
