I serve a variety of students with special needs. My students are either hearing impaired or visually impaired. Ages range from five to ten. This proposal is geared toward my visually impaired students. While I have a variety of books in my classroom, none are large enough for my visually impaired children to actually see the pictures and the print. I would like to create a classroom library that includes larger texts (i.e. big books) that will enable my visually impaired students to enjoy a variety of literary experiences. All of these students enjoy story time, and a library of big books will allow them to participate both auditorily and visually in the experience.
