Our students are excited to learn, inquisitive, creative, imaginative and hardworking.
Our STEM magnet school is a public elementary school located in a busy, crowded urban area of Los Angeles. We strive to be a calm oasis in the unstable world outside our school fences.
We work hard to motivate and teach our students with limited budgets and aging equipment. I am the 4th/5th language arts, math, and science teacher working with approximately 136 students, but often work with all the students in the school.
My Project
Our classroom library is an essential resource for students. Many students in our class do not have access to books at home. With this donation, students will have access to high quality literature that not only sparks their interest but inspires their curiosity to continually read and learn.
Students will use these books for their nightly reading at home, independent reading in the classroom, and for enjoyment.
Reading makes a difference in the lives of children everywhere. Reading inspires curiosity for every single student. Having these books in our classroom will encourage the wonderful students in my class to be voracious readers.
