My students need bean bag chairs, a bookshelf, a bench and book bins to create a comfortable space that keeps them motivated to learn and provides them the opportunity to find a love for reading!
As a first year teacher, this year has been full of learning for both me and my third graders. Each student is unique, loving and expressive. This is demonstrated through their hard work. My students look forward to coming to school each day to find a safe, encouraging, and loving environment in which to experiment. Oftentimes, our classroom becomes a "second home" for many of the children.
I want to ensure that I, as their third-grade teacher, can provide every student with a variety of resources to help my students grow and develop into successful learners!
Every day we explore through a variety of activities and inspire one another to learn more and more. These third graders become highly motivated through using a variety of hands-on materials to spark their interests!
My Project
All of the materials will be used to build our classroom library. With an ample amount of books in our classroom, we have no home to give them! Right now, they are currently in a crate stacked up high. These book shelves will allow me to organize these books by categories which will make it easier for the students to find what they enjoy and begin reading!
The bean bag chairs and book bench will give my students the opportunity to find a safe space in the classroom for them to read and learn!
Each student will have their own book bin which will allow them the chance to explore their interests in our classroom library each day as we dedicate 20 minutes to reading daily!
