This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach full-day kindergarten in a dual immersion program. Some of my students come from English only speaking families and are participating in the program to learn Spanish as a second language. The other part of my class consists of English learners. My students come to school excited to learn and eager to help each other. I want my students' first year in school to be successful, memorable, and fun! I try to keep things exciting for them and offer them different ways of learning and mastering the kindergarten standards.

My Project

The double sided book display will provide storage for our classroom library. The books will be displayed in an organized manner and will be changed out monthly based on what we are learning about that particular month.

The display case will make the books more accessible to kindergarten students.

A standard book case makes it hard for them to see all of the books and be able to pick the one they'd like to read. This book display case will make it easier for students to put books back in place without all the other books falling over like in a standard case. The fact that it is double-sided will mean that more students can access the books at once.
