Help me give my students a robust and diverse classroom library! With this start, they will be able to hear many wonderful books read aloud to them, as well as get the opportunity to read independently.
My students are incoming second graders, some of whom I had the pleasure of teaching in first grade last year as a student teacher. They are wonderful children who cared deeply about one another and they love to learn. These students are a diverse group, with some English language learners and some military families. These second graders have a wide range of academic needs and varying levels of family involvement.
My goal is to support them to grow socially, emotionally, and academically this year.

My Project
These books will be vital in my classroom as they cover topics such as kindness, STEAM, science, holidays and celebrations, and more. Children who have access to many books are more likely to become lifelong readers and my goal is to inspire students to love reading for life!
I hope to provide books that can act as windows and mirrors for all of the students in my classroom.
I want them to see kids like themselves and also to see kids who look, act, and live differently than they do.
